Ta’limul Qira’ah Wal-Kitabah

Ta’limul Qira’ah Wal-Kitabah

To teach the child to recite Al-Qur’aan Al – Kareem with proper pronunciation and rules of recitation.

At IEOSA, we have our own Qaa`idah, namely, Ta`limul Qiraa’ah wal Kitaabah – Part 1, which covers the sections from Fat-hah single letters to Sukoon; And Ta`limul Qiraa’ah wal Kitaabah – Part 2, which continues with Tanween through to Shaddah leading into the recitation of the Noble Qur’aan – Para 1.

Our Qaa`idah is visually appealing and makes teaching and learning easy. The colourful graphics helps to accelerate the learning process, whilst the writing practice helps to consolidate the recognition of the Arabic alphabet. Examples with similar-sounding letters, enhances proper Makhaarij and the reading exercises are more meaningful as we have included English translation. Alhamdulillah the Qaa`idah has also been cut onto inter-active CD’s. Simply install, click, listen and repeat.

Hifz & Practicals

Memorising selected Surahs from Al-Qur’aan and Du`aas from the Sunnah which are practised in one’s daily life.

Our HIFZ series aims to make memorisation of these Surahs and Du`aas effortless.  The Books have colour coding to emphasise proper Makhaarij and Tajweed.  The series also includes some practical graphics to enhance teaching & learning and a “Did you know?” segment to help towards increasing one’s knowledge on the Surah or Du`aa being learnt.
In the subject Practicals, we learn the Sunnah method of Wudu, Tayammum and Salaah.

Objective / Aims and Goals:-

Entails memorisation of selected short surahs in Juz Amma (para 30), and some verses from other parts of the Noble Qur=aan as well as various supplications contained in the Hadith. Practicals – deals with the teaching of Wudu and Salaah with correct postures, etc. (in practice).

  • To instil the importance of Salaah.
  • To teach the correct method of the performance of Salaah.
  • To inculcate the application of the Surahs and Du`aas memorized.
  • To nurture the habit of continuous performance of Salaah from an early age.
  • To develop the true spirit of Ibaadah which can only be learnt through Salaah.
  • To inculcate the habit of seeking help from Allah through optional Salaah, in times of difficulties, hardships, decision making, etc.

Islamic Manners

Learning Islamic Manners & Morals as taught by Prophet Muhammad.

In Tahdhib, we aim to create the love for emulating the character of Prophet Muhammad by teaching age appropriate, character building topics. Qur’aanic Aayaat, Ahaadith, incidents from the lives of the Sahaabah and pious predecessors are included in the topics. These aim at rectifying and improving one’s behaviour. Special features of the series includes, Sunnah activities, thought-provoking learner activities, self-explanatory graphics and sing-a-longs.

Islamic History

Learning the life of Prophet Muhammad , other Prophets , Al-Khulafaa Ar-Raashidoon and Islamic personalities.
The lessons in our Islamic History series are made practical through the morals learnt.  The series is designed around a unique self-study approach which uses the 4 R’s as an inter-active technique, that is, Remember, Read, Reflect and Revise.  Vivid graphics, together with constructive leaner activities have been included to enhance the lessons.

Objective / Aims and Goals:-

Our Islamic History syllabus highlights not only what happened in the past, but it also focuses on how we could learn from past events, so that we improve on our present and future lives. 

To instil the correct way of life through the study of:-

  • the life and example of Prophet Muhammad
  • the lives of the Prophets from Aadam
  • the wives and family of the Prophet’s household
  • the study of the Sahaabah including the rightly-guided Caliphs (Abu Bakr, Uthman, Omar, Ali )

The content has been adapted to inculcate morals and the characteristics of these great people to develop the personality of the Muslims.

Fiqh and Islamic Teachings

Learning the Pillars and Beliefs of Islam, including actions applied in our daily lives.

Our Fiqh series, presents concisely and clearly the basic beliefs & tenets of Islam.  Visually appealing illustrations have been included in order to ease the understanding of concepts taught.  Productive learner activities together with evaluation questions are included to reinforce content and to review progress.

Objective / Aims and Goals:-

To promote pupils knowledge and understanding on the basic practices of Islam as promulgated in the Noble Qur’aan and Ahaadeeth.  The basic tenets with the practical application of Islam are covered here.  Aspects of Tawheed, Beliefs of Islam, Tahaarah, the Five Pillars, etc. are done in detail.

  • To inculcate Imaan and correct beliefs.
  • To ensure the proper practices of the tenets of Islam.
  • To develop the level of Taqwa/ Allah Consciousness
  • To promote sound Islamic values & morals
  • To be able to apply the basics in relation to contemporary issues.

Learn Arabic

Learning conversational skills and basic grammar, thereby creating a love for Arabic – the language of the Noble Qur’aan.
Our Arabic content is designed primarily for non-Arabic speaking learners, mainly to create a love for the language of the Noble Qur’aan.  The series of Books contains simple conversations & short passages.  There are many fun-filled activities to consolidate the aspects taught.  Grammar is taught incidentally and gradually, with entertaining yet challenging exercises.

Objective / Aims and Goals:-
To create a yearning towards understanding the primary sources of Islamic knowledge, that is, the Noble Qur’aan and the Hadith with the view to comprehending the reality of Tawheed and the true dictates of being the Khalifatullah fil `Ard (vicegerent of Allah or earth).
Taking into account the non-Arabic environment, Arabic is introduced as follows:-

  • Initially through common expressions and phrases,
  • Conversations and dialogues
  • Writing practice
  • Equipping with grammar skills
  • Enriching vocabulary

Learn Urdu

Learning conversational skills and basic grammar, thereby creating a love for the language.

Our Learn Urdu series aims to make Urdu easy to understand and speak. The content is designed for the benefit of non-Urdu speaking learners and includes poems, dialogues, comprehension passages & basic grammar rules. Graphics, together with exciting learner activities and class exercises, are included to assist with understanding and to make the lessons more meaningful.

Teacher's Guide

Guiding the Madrasah teacher towards the implementation of the IEOSA syllabus.

The Guide includes, inter alia, basic guidelines on ‘What is Teaching?’; ‘Function of the Teacher’; keeping of administrative records; assessment and grading of learners; sample time tables; etc. In addition to the IEOSA curriculum for the subjects, Qaa`idah/Qur’aan; Hifz (Surah’s and Du`aa’s); Practicals (Wudu and Salaah); Arabic; Urdu, Islamic History; Fiqh and Islamic Teachings and Tahdhib, this guide also includes, for each subject:- an overview and the objectives of the subject, the syllabus for each Grade/Year; general guidelines for the teacher; guidelines on how to follow the Schemes of Work / Year Planners; Samples of the Schemes of Work / Year Planners; general methodology for teaching of the subject, sample Lesson Plans for each Grade / Year – with one detailed Model Lesson; blank Lesson Plan forms; examination / assessment guidelines – together with sample Examination Papers for the junior and senior classes.
